Monterrey deja en el terreno a Diablos Rojos y toma ventaja en la gran final de la LMS

Sultanes Femenil se llevó el Juego 1 de la Serie de la Reina 2026 al imponerse 2-1 a Diablos Rojos Femenil en el Walmart Park de Monterrey, tomando ventaja de 1-0 en la serie por el campeonato de la Liga Mexicana de Softbol.
Sultanes Femenil claimed Game 1 of the 2026 Queen’s Series with a 2-1 victory over Diablos Rojos Femenil at Walmart Park in Monterrey, taking a 1-0 lead in the championship series of the Mexican Softball League.
El encuentro comenzó con dominio visitante. En la primera entrada, Janae Jefferson conectó sencillo y posteriormente Jazmyn Jackson respondió con doble productor para colocar a las escarlatas arriba 1-0 en la pizarra.
The game opened with the visitors striking first. In the opening inning, Janae Jefferson singled and later Jazmyn Jackson delivered an RBI double to give Diablos Rojos a 1-0 lead.
Sultanes Femenil respondió en la tercera entrada. Con dos outs, Morgan Howe fue golpeada y encendió la ofensiva regiomontana; posteriormente, Alexandra Piña conectó sencillo que permitió a Howe anotar la carrera del empate 1-1, levantando a la afición en Monterrey.
Sultanes Femenil answered in the third inning. With two outs, Morgan Howe was hit by a pitch to spark the rally, and Alexandra Piña followed with an RBI single that allowed Howe to score the tying run at 1-1, igniting the home crowd.
El duelo se mantuvo cerrado durante el resto del encuentro, con ambas novenas mostrando solidez defensiva y dominio desde la loma. Diablos Rojos buscó retomar la ventaja, pero no logró descifrar el pitcheo de Payton Gottshall, quien mantuvo el control y llevó el juego empatado hasta entradas extras.
The game remained tightly contested the rest of the way, with both teams showcasing strong defense and effective pitching. Diablos Rojos attempted to regain the lead but were unable to solve Payton Gottshall, who kept control and forced the game into extra innings.
La jugada decisiva llegó en la parte baja de la octava entrada. Morgan Howe conectó un doblete al jardín derecho que impulsó a Savannah Wysocki con la carrera del triunfo, dejando tendidas a las escarlatas y desatando la euforia en el Walmart Park.
The decisive moment came in the bottom of the eighth inning. Morgan Howe delivered a double to right field that drove in Savannah Wysocki with the winning run, leaving the visitors on the field and sparking celebration at Walmart Park.
La victoria fue para Payton Gottshall por su sólida labor en la lomita, mientras que Yilián Tornés cargó con la derrota. Con este resultado, Sultanes Femenil toma ventaja en la serie y buscará ampliar su dominio en el segundo juego, mientras que Diablos Rojos intentará reaccionar para empatar la final.
The win went to Payton Gottshall for her strong performance in the circle, while Yilián Tornés took the loss. With this result, Sultanes Femenil takes the series lead and will look to extend it in Game 2, while Diablos Rojos aims to respond and even the series.
