Sultanes Femenil derrotó por pizarra de 6-3 a Charros Femenil en el primer juego de la serie disputado en el Walmart Park, en una noche que combinó dominio monticular y poder ofensivo oportuno.
Sultanes Femenil defeated Charros Femenil 6-3 in the opening game of the series at Walmart Park, in a night that combined pitching dominance with timely power hitting.
Como ya es costumbre, el encuentro comenzó con un duelo de pitcheo entre la estadounidense Payton Gotshall por Monterrey y Yeraldine Carrión por la visita. Ambas abridoras impusieron condiciones durante los primeros episodios.
As has become customary, the game opened with a pitching duel between American right-hander Payton Gotshall for Monterrey and Yeraldine Carrión for the visitors. Both starters set the tone early.
La diferencia comenzó a marcarse en la tercera entrada. Con dos outs, Morgan Howe y Guadalupe Piña ligaron imparables, y Baylee Klingler limpió las bases con un sólido doblete al jardín central para producir las primeras dos carreras. Acto seguido, Suka Van Gurp conectó doblete al izquierdo para impulsar la tercera anotación del inning.
The difference began to take shape in the third inning. With two outs, Morgan Howe and Guadalupe Piña delivered back-to-back hits, and Baylee Klingler cleared the bases with a sharp double to center field, driving in the first two runs. Moments later, Suka Van Gurp doubled to left field to bring home the third run of the inning.
Gotshall mantuvo a raya a las tapatías hasta la quinta entrada. Erika García recibió base por bolas y Paula Valles conectó sencillo. Gotshall kept the Charros lineup under control until the fifth inning. Erika García drew a walk and Paula Valles singled. After recording two strikeouts —including the 150th of her career— the Monterrey ace appeared in command; however, Japan’s Mikiko Eguchi delivered a two-run triple, and Ana López drove her in to tie the game at 3-3.
La respuesta fue inmediata. En el cierre del quinto episodio, Suka Van Gurp escribió su propia página con un imponente cuadrangular entre el izquierdo y el central, llevándose por delante a Morgan Howe y Baylee Klingler para colocar la pizarra 6-3 ante un Palacio Sultán abarrotado y eufórico.
The response was immediate. In the bottom of the fifth, Suka Van Gurp authored her own highlight with a towering home run to left-center field, bringing Morgan Howe and Baylee Klingler home to make it 6-3 in front of a packed and roaring Palacio Sultán.
A partir de ese momento, Gotshall bajó la cortina. Retiró a sus siguientes siete rivales en fila y completó la ruta con autoridad: cuatro imparables permitidos, tres carreras, una base por bolas y diez ponches en una actuación que reafirma su liderazgo en el círculo.
From that point on, Gotshall shut the door. She retired her next seven opponents in order and completed the game with authority: four hits allowed, three runs, one walk, and ten strikeouts in a performance that reaffirms her leadership in the circle.
