Sultanes Femenil continúa sumando victorias en la recta final del calendario regular. Este domingo derrotó 3-1 a Charros Femenil en el segundo y último juego de la serie disputado en el Walmart Park, con Sharlize Palacios como figura ofensiva.
Sultanes Femenil continues to stack wins down the stretch of the regular season. This Sunday, they defeated Charros Femenil 3-1 in the second and final game of the series at Walmart Park, with Sharlize Palacios leading the offense.
La visita tomó ventaja desde la primera entrada cuando la japonesa Mikiko Eguchi se embasó por error de la segunda base y posteriormente anotó con rodado productor al cuadro de Corinth MacMillan.
The visitors struck first in the opening inning when Japan’s Mikiko Eguchi reached base on a second-base error and later scored on an RBI groundout by Corinth MacMillan.
En el tercer episodio, Baylee Klingler conectó imparable al jardín derecho y Sharlize Palacios respondió con sencillo productor para empatar momentáneamente la pizarra a una carrera por bando.
In the third inning, Baylee Klingler singled to right field and Sharlize Palacios followed with an RBI base hit to tie the game at one run apiece.
Las abridoras Katerina Kindermannova por la Tropa de Rafa Guzmán y Geraldine Carrión por Charros se mantuvieron firmes en el círculo, neutralizando los ataques rivales durante varios episodios.
Starting pitchers Katerina Kindermannova for Rafa Guzmán’s squad and Geraldine Carrión for Charros remained steady in the circle, neutralizing opposing offenses through multiple innings.
El momento decisivo llegó en el quinto capítulo. Klingler recibió base por bolas, Suka Van Gurp se embasó en fielder’s choice y nuevamente apareció la designada Palacios, quien conectó doblete al jardín izquierdo para impulsar las dos carreras de la diferencia, anotadas por Klingler y Suka.
The decisive moment came in the fifth inning. Klingler drew a walk, Suka Van Gurp reached on a fielder’s choice, and once again designated hitter Palacios delivered, ripping a double to left field that drove in the two go-ahead runs scored by Klingler and Suka.
En la sexta entrada ingresó Payton Gottshall en relevo por Kindermannova para apagar una amenaza con dos corredoras en base. Lo logró con dos ponches, su especialidad.
In the sixth inning, Payton Gottshall entered in relief for Kindermannova to extinguish a threat with two runners on base. She did so by recording two strikeouts — her specialty.
Charros volvió a presionar en la séptima entrada, pero la lanzadora nativa de Ohio bajó la cortina con un ponche y dos elevados a los jardines para sellar el triunfo.
Charros applied pressure again in the seventh, but the Ohio native shut the door with a strikeout and two fly balls to the outfield to secure the win.
La victoria fue para Kindermannova tras labor de cinco entradas y un tercio, permitiendo tres hits, una carrera, otorgando dos bases por bolas y recetando seis ponches. La derrota fue para Geraldine Carrión.
Kindermannova earned the win after pitching five and one-third innings, allowing three hits and one run, issuing two walks and striking out six. The loss went to Geraldine Carrión.
Las Turquesas visitarán el jueves 4 y viernes 5 de marzo a Olmecas en Tabasco y regresarán al Palacio Sultán el sábado 6 y domingo 7 para cerrar la temporada regular ante Diablas Rojas del México en una serie que promete intensidad.
The Turquesas will visit Olmecas in Tabasco on Thursday, March 4 and Friday, March 5, before returning to Palacio Sultán on Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7 to close the regular season against Diablas Rojas del México in what promises to be an intense series.
